We Don’t Fit In

We Don’t Fit In was created as part of the 24-hour comic in Wannsee event in 2021. Artists must draw 24 pages at least in 24 hour to form a complete story. With the theme of “too tight” I naturally went on to make a story about too tight shoes, the weight of society’s gaze on our appearance and arranged mariages, naturally. In order to save time and to further develop my technique of “written drawing” that is to draw with as much ease and speed as one would draw, the entirety of the drawings were done without prior sketching. In order to keep the spirit of the 24h, no drawings or text was corrected once the time was up, all quirkiness or outright grammar errors are intentional and part of the experience!
